The creation of 'Café Loves Reggaetón' happened during a tour stop in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The band had been experimenting with fusion sounds for their coffee-themed album when they stopped for an afternoon caffeine fix at a local café. What was supposed to be a quick coffee break turned into an impromptu four-hour jam session.
The café's barista, it turned out, was also an aspiring reggaetón producer who recognized the band. When he heard they were working on coffee-themed music, he insisted they try his special brew – a strong, sweetened coffee made with local beans – while he played them some of his beats. The rhythm was infectious, and before long, DJ Wedoo was sampling the sounds of coffee preparation (the grind, the pour, the cup taps) to layer over the reggaetón beat.
The café's patrons joined in, creating a spontaneous dance party as the track took shape. One elderly woman's enthusiastic dance moves were so impressive that the band invited her to be featured in the eventual music video. The final version of the song combines authentic reggaetón rhythms with coffee-themed lyrics, capturing the energetic, communal vibe of that unexpected afternoon in San Juan. The barista, credited as a co-producer, now proudly plays the track on loop in his café, which has become a popular stop for fans of DJ Wedoo + the Glitches.
